Bollox, bought loads of Apple products abroad and apple couldn't be more helpful when I had a problem with my old 3gs phone or my new mac mini. GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT, before spouting crap.
People aren't spouting crap and it might be better if you got your facts straight. If you bought an iPhone overseas and Apple repaired it under warranty here in the UK then you got lucky. Apple's official policy on iPhones is that the warranty is only valid in the country of purchase.
When I had a problem with mine whilst in the US which I had bought here they wouldn't even take a look at it and told me I would have to wait until I got back to the UK. IPads, iPods and laptops all have world wide warranties.
As far as I'm aware the desktops do not have a world wide warranty but then people are less likely to travel abroad with or purchase abroad desk tops.
