Hi,

I have a late 2012 Mac mini with HDMI out and trying to connect it to a 20" Cinema Display (M9177LL/A) I have lying around. I've got a HDMI to DVI adaptor, but the screen isn't being recognised by the Mac mini. I've checked the hdmi out of the Mac mini (by connecting it to a TV) and I've checked the screen (with the hdmi out to a raspberry and using the adaptor) and all works.

The system report says a built-in Display 23" (maybe because I'm using logmein to see the Mac mini)

I'm a but stumped why it isn't working. Any ideas?

Maybe the adapter? I am using a 23" Apple Cinema display that I got around 2005 with my 2012 mini and HDMI to DVI adapter at 1920x1200 - no problems whatsoever. Same screen also works fine with my 2013 MacBook Air using a miniDisplayport to DVI adapter.

The HDMI to DVI adapter is from Apple, I think it's the one that was included with the Mini when I got it.

Thanks. I'll try another adaptor then...

Yes, was the adapter. Changed it for a different one and it worked fine. Thx.
