Only if you break something in the process, and then only to the extent of the broken thing...

actually it does void warranty unless an authorized apple repair shop does it. there is a but and here is the but.

if you do it on your own and don't break anything no one can tell if you set the mini back to stock . then bring the mini in for repair. If you bring a 1 hdd mini in for repair that has a second hdd in side of it you will be told the mini is not under warranty.

Frankly It is no longer worth doing.

I use an external t-bolt drive easy to do and no warranty risk.

So you boot off the thunderbolt drive? How would you run multiple monitors?

the lacie lbd allows a daisy chain option. a few people are doing it on this site. also there is a shorter t-bolt cable by elgato seems to work a bit better then the apple t-bolt cable. or you can do the 2nd drive install. most people do it correctly but there are a lot of threads on f ups and broken minis. i have opened many minis and swapping out the stock drive is not that hard. adding the second drive is harder. a lot can go wrong.
