Hi there,

I was thinking of using the Samsung SyncMaster 22" LCD Monitor (T220) with my Mac mini (intel). Are there any foreseeable problems with this pairing?

Any information would be great,
thanks in advance!

I was going to get a T220 online last Friday night. The price was $209 Cdn. Saturday morning the price jumped to $280 Cdn. Being perturbed, I contacted the company and asked if they would still sell it to me at $209. The response I got was interesting. The owner said they had shipped all stock of their T220's back to Samsung as they were having problems with them and customers were complaining and returning their T220's. Samsung shipped out a new batch of supposedly corrected T220's at a higher price point. I then asked how one could distinguish between a faulty T220 and a good one, such as by model numbers. He replied that there wasn't a way, and his company now only sold fixed monitors. Caveat Emptor!

PS: I'm now looking at either a Dell 2209WA or Dell E2209.

Hmm, reading your response has gotten me worried again! I read many reviews on the T220, and while most of them were good, several did mention some reoccurring problems. I've never used any monitors other than Samsung though, so I've been looking into the 2253LW. Would you happen to know if that would be suitable as well?

P.S. I would look into getting Dell, but where I'm getting it, they don't have Dell monitors over ~19", and I'd prefer something 21"+. :(

Thanks again! :D

I don't know anything about the Samsung 2253LW. Why don't you get a Dell monitor direct from www.dell.ca?
Their online store is easy to navigate and there should be free shipping on the monitor as well. BTW, the Dell moitors are mostly relabeled Samsungs.

nope you should be perfectly fine, I run same montior as dual display on my iMac works fine

Followup to Samsung T220

I found out more about the problematic Samsung T220's. Their model # ends in ZA. The newer corrected model # ends in ZC.
Hope this helps. BTW, I bought a T240 for a Mini. It also was a new model # ending in ZC.
