Something like shown above.

Is there any way to enable WCG and HDR on catalina 10.15.2?

Would this be possible say on newer macbook pros/minis if i connect them to a OLED TV.

Thanks.

Wide color gamut is always enabled on macOS.

HDR is not. HDR is enabled only when an app requires HDR. You should try to play a HDR video in QuickTIme Player and see what happens.
I don't have an HDR monitor so I can't help you more than this.

So if i have an photo app that wants to display HDR photos. Will mac os send a HDR signal to my TV.

Is it possible to view normal photos in HDR mode?

I get a HDR logo on my TV everytime windows sends a HDR signal.

The "HDR" term used in the photo world has got a different meaning than "HDR" in the video world.
A "HDR" photo is a photo is created by merging different photos, but in the end the photo color and luminance range will be always limited.
A "HDR" video is a video with an higher accuracy and has got a lot more information in light and dark area.

Anyway, "normal" photos on a HDR display in HDR mode should looks exactly the same as with a normal monitor. If they looks different it means your photo viewer is broken and doesn't understand color management.

Thanks Ritsuka.

What i meant was that my normal photos look better with HDR on in windows than on mac os. colors pop and look gorgeous.

Guess i will stick with windows then.

Mac os still behind when it comes to HDR.

Ok i have doubled checked with Apple support now.

For anyone interested in this.

HDR switch on/off option is not available even if you have HDR capable display.

This has been confirmed by apple support team.
