I upgraded my 2012 MM with an SSD (machine has SSD and original 1TB drive now). Anyways, I cannot get the Wifi grate to fit correctly. I can only get one of the two "tabs" to fit in the recess so I can get the T8 scew in; the other tab is about a milimeter or so out of the recess.

Thinking that maybe the HDD was causing the issue, I took it out and just tried to dry fit the grate in with no bottom drive... same issue. I checked the grate to make sure it wasn't bent and it doesn't appear to be...

anyone have the same issue.. if so, did you resolve it? Not that it really matters, but it drives me nuts having one screw that is not in place.

Thanks

It's been a year since I did my upgrade, If I remember correctly, there is a groove the grate needs to slide into. If you aren't lined up correctly it will cause problems. I think that was the hardest part of the upgrade.

Had the same problem after putting an M500 into my 2010. Put a pair of needle nose pliers through the grate and pull up as you push the grate sideways/in. I put them in near the apex of the curve, above the black disk.

There is a youtube video that shows it.
