Hey everyone.
I bought my parents a mini to use a few years ago so they could have a small little system to check email, surf the web, etc. Until now it had been running very smoothly without anything going wrong. Now, after I restarted the computer, it came to the boot screen with the apple logo and the spinning wheel of dash's (not the rainbow colored pinwheel) on the grey screen. I have tried un pluggin and pluggin in again, holding the power button down with no power. Holding the powerbutton down with power until it beeped and flased the sleep light, and then I tried removing every connected device, but nothing has worked. Do you guys have any suggestions? It will be ahrd to find the restore disks, so anything else I should try before them? Any help is appreciated.

What model is it?

Reset PRAM and PMU. See if that works.
How do I do it on the mini?
And its the silent upgrade 1.5GHz/64MB video ram. model. 80 GB, 512 MB.

How long are you waiting for the gears to turn? Possible you are bailing on it before it is finished booting. Let it run for 20 minutes on the gray screen and see if it boots.

PRAM reset _ hold down Command Option P R (IIRA it has to be a wired keyboard, no bluetooth)

Boot from the OSX DVD while holding the "C" key, instead of Installing, go to the menu at the top choose Disk Utility, and do a Verify and Repair on the hard drive.

I left it on the gray boot screen all day yesterday (~8 Hours) So i am pretty sure Im not bailing on it too early. As for the pram and PMU, I reset them, but nothing, still no osx. I cant find y restore cd's, so I hooked up my macbook via target disk mode, and repaired the disk from there. It repaired it, but still, no booting. Is there anything else I can do before I have to possibly buy another set of restore disks?
