Mac Mini will not see 3TB external drive

I'm using an external iomega mini max drive. I replaced the 1TB drive with a 3TB Seagate. It will not see the full 3TB drive it will only see 1.5TB. I did partition the drive and format with GUID and Journaled.

According to thishttp://knowledge.seagate.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/218579en it should work but I cannot get it.

It appears to be the older iomega enclosure. I tried a newer enclosure and it sees it as 3TB.

Yep. Different enclosures can handle different drive capacities.

yeah the older cases max at 2.2tb

Cheap USB cases come with a lot of cheapass really bad controller chips.
