What do you want for the new mini? I want a lower price and user-upgradable parts (RAM and HD specifically). If possible, a dedicated graphics card. Also, I want it to be released before the end of this year, or definitely at MacWorld 2009. What do you hope to see whenever they finally update it?

P.S. Ten awesome points for the first person to tell where this quote is from and who said it:

"Well, if it was a toothbrush I wouldn't ask questions, I'd just quote a price, but then a toothbrush is a non-lethal object, isn't it?"

- 2GHz (base model).
- 2.4GHz (high end model).
- $100 Price Drop.
- Superdrive in low and high end models.
- 120GB HDD (in low end model).
- 250GB HDD (hight end model).
- 2GB Ram Standard.
- Dedicated Graphics.
- Upgradable Parts.
- 4GB ram configuration option.
- Maybe a middle model that has a 160GB HDD.

I may edit this and add more later.

Hmm... this thread has inspired me to make an iMac wish list thread.
Just kidding jpmittins.
Inside joke ^

More HD space would be awesome. I use a mini as a HTPC and I'd like more space to store movies.

Shawshank Redemption.

10 awesome points for you, sir.

No, don't bother, that kind of thread has been made hundreds of times before...;)

Well, I'll search first.
I normally try to do that before I make a thread. ;)

You know, I think you just gave me a great idea for a thread...;)

Sorry to everyone else if this exchange doesn't make any sense; it's a bit of an inside joke.

Dang it!
I was going to do that.;)
Stop contradicting yourself!

(Wow, this could go on forever. Roflcopter)

Max 8GB RAM; upgradable video card (this is too much I guess). If it can go further, I wish it can be used as a mini workstation, Core 2 duo/Core 2 quad processors, dual 3.5" hard drives. Man, people can be really greedy.:D

how about 4 ddr2 slots?

The ultimate Mac mini for me would have a 3.5" HDD, easily upgradable, a Blu-ray drive and a HD twin tuner built in, 1080p of course.

I think it could be pulled off easily, and making it slightly larger than a Time Capsule wouldn't bother me.

Also, if you use an Apple Remote, it starts up as a media hub within seconds. With an option to boot up as a computer.

But then you'd have to add a 12V line, and the heat to go with it.

Well, it'll already do 1080p at high bit rate, so I don't see it becoming less in that regard. BRD would be nice, though.

Not with a 3.5" drive. You'll need a decent (i.e., big) heat sink or large diameter fan on it. Unless, of course, they have a new processor that generates substantially less heat than the ones available now.

I hope all these things are announced tomorrow!

But the pessimist in me thinks there won't be any Mac Mini announcements :(
