I had myself all psyched up for getting a Mac Mini and using 2 x Dell (or other TN based) 24" Screens. All I was waiting for was the Mini's to be updated.

However, now that the iMac had a quad core, I'm very tempted. There's only 2 things that put me off:

1. The 27" Screen (Seems too big for a single desktop monitor for me).
2. The inability to have 2 IDENTICAL displays.

So I would like your advice. Which configuration would you go for?

The 2.53GHz Mac Mini with 2 x 24" TN displays (or 2 x Dell 2209WFP's)
or
The 2.66GHz Core i5 27" iMac

First of all, the need to have two identical displays confuse me. Why do you need this, when you can just turn the screen around?

Second of all - get the iMac. MUCH better screen, much better performance, and FAR FAR better resale value. The Dell TNs are probably great for TN displays, but they are still valueless for resale.

While I think 'Spaces' is a great idea, it's not as good as having two screens next to each other. Especially when I'm doing research for my uni work, it's handy to have multiple windows open next to each other.

Similarly when I do web development, I don't want to have to switch between 'Spaces' all the time - I might as well be switching between windows using cmd+tab (or alt+tab in Windows)...no real advantage.
