The fusion drive in my Mac mini has been constantly making a whirring, ticking noise. It used to run silently, but now it sounds like the drive is working overtime. I understand that the fusion drive moves files back and forth in the background, but this seems pretty excessive. Do any other fusion equipped mini users, or even iMac with fusion drive users have this problem?

First -- back up everything, now! A lot of ticking noise is associated with a failing hard drive.

Second, use disk utility to verify the drive as a starting point for diagnosis.
