mac mini with samsung lcd output sound

When I watch a dvd or listen to music on my mini Im getting sound from the built in speakers on the mini. Even though Im happy it has built in speakers I want the sound to come from my tv instead.

How is this possible. My mini is intel based, its connected via a dvi to hd lead and my tv is a samsung le32r88bd

Would also like to hear sound from the tv channel i have active when using PIP.

Your mini has a headphone jack on the back (Or it should.) Although there's definitely a better way to do this, off the top of my head: get Apple's DVI to video cable, and a mini stereo to RCA adapter (mini stereo being headphone jack plug).

I like using the dvi to hd lead. I appreciate your input but I would agree with you that there is a better way to do it.

Any other suggestions.

This will take DVI & sound and convert to HDMI. $270

Otherwise you would have to set the TV to use an audio input while using the HDMI or something.
