I turn my mac mini on my Windows XP portion, log on, but it goes off before I can get to my desktop screen. Now, pressing the power button does nothing. I'm not so advanced in computer technology, but hoping to learn, so the best I could do was make sure nothing was detached, out of place, and that it was clean. The power is working, as I tested the outlets. As of now I am unable to test the adapter since I do not have a spare.

So what could have possibly happened? From what I gather, it could be hardware failure or maybe adapter failure.

Well, that's pretty much the method I tried. Current is going through the outlet, but I am unsure if it is going through the power cord and the computer.
