I Just sold Early 2009 Mac Mini on eBay for US$365 + Shipping.

1 week ago I bought a brand new Base 2011 Mini for $499 + tax (Staples sale).

I added a 128GB Samsung SSD for $96.50 (on sale).

I added 8GB RAM from Crucial 42$.

I just cannot believe how well these machines are holding their value!

It has just cost me about $350 including all eBay fees etc. to upgrade a 3 year old Mini to the most recent version including SSD, RAM.

Just unbelievable!

I bought a 2010 mini on ebay last summer for $200, person said what was wrong with it and I knew how to quickly fix it. I also purchased a 750 gb hdd on ebay with every software I needed like adobe master suite for $150. And ordered the max memory as well. When I got the Mac mini it was in great shape! After I installed everything my Mac mini is freaking awesome!!! Lol and if I wanted to sell it on eBay I can probably make out on getting all my money back plus more. I actually just sold my PowerBook g4 titanium for $150 which I was surprised. Lol

I have a buddy that sold me his 09 mac mini (sig), the superdrive was broken and the hard drive was dead. He sold it to me for 150. (early 2009 2.0cpu) I added a 64G M4 SSD drive (main) and a data doubler/750G drive in the superdrive bay. He had 4G of ram and I updated it to 8G.

I am currently using it as a home theater and server. iTunes (use it to wirelessly sync/update my iPhone and iPad) and Plex. While all that was going on and before I made it headless, I played D3 on it with the lowest settings.

I figure now, I could easily sell it for 400. Maybe...

I have customers regularly surprised but this. They'll buy a Mac mini, use it as a server a few years, and sell it for about $150 or so less than they bought. Great resale value.
