Hey all,
Some of my PC friends can display what iTunes is playing next to their msn name. I am running msn 5.0.0, is there anyway I can do the same?
Thanks
Patmian

I know you can do this when you use adium. I really like adium its great!
I dont know why, im not really a fan, I hate the alert sounds and the interface, also has anyone on msn noticed that it disconnects by itself sometime and give you an error message?

Yes this is what i thought too when i first tried it. The default are bad!

However I changed the sounds to the ichat sounds. And the look can be completely changed. After I tried it a second time, and changed these settings I liked it. Also i think someone released a metal adium.

there are all sorts of skins that are EXTREMELY easy to download and install, adium is fully customizable, you can change anything about it

also, how can you get adium to display your itunes track?

Go into the display name edit thingy. select where you want it then go edit:insert script:track. And there ya go!:)

I'll put in my vote for Mercury. I didn't really like Adium when I tried it because it wasn't a pure MSN client. aMSN seemed decent, but it lacks a few features.

These answers are great and all but does anyone know if msn 5 is capable of showing what you are currently playing hehehehe

It's not. Not only that, but Windows MSN displays the iTunes status in something called "Personal Messages" (basically Available messages) that the Mac client and Adium do not support [yet]. So you won't be able to see your friends iTunes songs on the Mac client either.

hmmmm ok i see what you mean but when i add the Artist - Track Script it doesn't work, it just adds "/music" to my name....
