Hey.

I have my mac 3 days and I love it. But theres a few things Im still wondering about..

Right I found this forum and it seems kool, but are there any other "essential" sites for mac people to hit??

What do mac people use for file sharing? - Limewire or Aquisition? Or torrents?

Eh and mounting a disk image seems wierd- do i use toast or someting then burn the disk or can I just make a virtual drive daemon style??

TIA

Welcome.

First lesson, grasshopper, is to make your post's title descriptive of the question you are asking.

Second lesson is to read the forum guidelines - although your question about filesharing software is legit it skirts the borderline: any discussion of where to go to get non-licensed materials is verboten on this forum.

Disk image mounting: Do you mean a .dmg or .smi file?
These two Apple disk image types will mount in the Finder, or you can mount them with Disk Utility. They appear on the desktop and can be used like a normal volume.

Toast has it's own disk image format which is used in Toast.

Essential sites:
It depends what your interests are.
For shareware, freeware and commercial update information, www.versiontracker.com is indispensible
For Mac troubleshooting, www.macfixit.com and www.macintouch.com are good.
For upgrading of Macs, especially with third-party drives, www.xlr8yourmac.com
For specs on older Macs, www.everymac.com

There are many, many sites dedicated to particular topics.

MacRumors has been all I've ever needed for Mac help.

If you already know about Limewire, Acquisition, and torrents, why do you still need to ask? Just use 'em.

Just use Toast.

It's spelled "weird." Just a pet peeve I have.

Have fun with your Mac.
