Hi there,

I've had a old eMAC lying around for some time now, decided to use the old 4 cd system restore disk to start from scratch and try to learn how to use it!!!

System restore went like a dream - however my keyboard volume, mute and eject buttons appear not to work!!

I can eject using the F12 key, but how do I get my keyboard working properly again???

cheers.
:)

wow, that's a pretty strange problem--when i use my apple pro keyboard on my pc the volume/eject still work...
by the way, it's Mac as opposed to MAC (MAC is a networking term), so it's an eMac :)

Have you checked System Preferences -> Keyboard & Mouse -> Keyboard?

The setting at the bottom, "Use the F1-F12..." button should be un-checked, in order for the keys in question to activate system resources like volume.

hi,

Yes, I've gone into Systems Prefences on my eMac(sorry.:) )

Keyboard
'Turn on Full keyboard access' is unchecked

I've tried with it checked as well but still no joy. I know it works cos it was fine a couple of hours ago when I started this.

Thanks for your help, anything else I can try?
