After updating to MacOS 12.3, I can't screen share from my Mac to iPad Pro and universal control does not work. See attachment - there is no way to share the display. Anyone else having this issue? iPad Pro 12.9 (15.4) M1 with 16" MacBook Pro M1 Max (12.3). all devices updated and on same wifi network. before upgrading, I would be able to screen share.

I got the same devices and this is how I got it working

on your MacBook go to

Systems Settings > Display > Universal Control

Enable all the tick boxes ( allow customer on keyboard to move between any near by Mac or iPad, Push though the edge, and auto reconnect )

Once enabled unlock you iPad with screen on and then move your cursor thought the side (mine was the right side) though to the iPad, you should see the cursor move on your iPad, if you have a magic keyboard move the mouse on there and push back to the Mac, mine is working flawless!

Enjoy

thanks but I tried that - it's not working. Also - I can no longer screen share. It's almost like it does not even see the iPad at all anymore.

on the same network
it works for me, I am actually writing from my iPad keyboard in my Mac Mini....
It has definitely some issues, while the trackpad works, tap to click does not work on the Mac
Also the mouse connected to the Mac cannot scroll on iPad and the mouse connected to the iPad cannot scroll on Mac (trackpad on the iPad can scroll on both...)
Still pretty great to be able to use keyboards and move files and folders from one device to another so easily

Having the same exact issue, same setup as well. M1 Max + 12.9 iPad Pro all updated and all on the same network logged into iCloud.

Ok - hopefully someone can help us, maybe we need to do something with the iPad? I just tried the iPad with my M1 Air and I'm getting the same issue

Works great so far. Using my M1 iMac keyboard and trackpad to control the iPad. Nice to see all the multitasking in iPadOS works with it.

It'll greatly help my workflow when working from home

Great feature.

I swear this isn't meant to be a dumb question: Have you tried locking and unlocking the iPad to see if it shows up after that? I know Federico Viticci over at macstories.net had this issue and that is what fixed it for him.

thanks for the support - unfortunately no this did not work. I even factory reset the iPad. before 12.3, I would be able to screen share via side car. the iPad is seeing the Mac because I can see the iPad showing apps ready to open on the bottom menu when they are close to each other, but on my Macs it still does not let me try side car or universal control.

UPDATE - after resetting the iPad, loading last cloud backup, (still did not work), and then walking away from 4-5 hours - it now works. Hopefully that helps others :)

OK have you tried login out of iCloud on your iPad and then resigning back in?

I had to do this before universal control was released to get side car working!

Also do you have handoff enabled not sure if you need it enabled but worth checking! Once I signed out and back in again everything started working

Good luck
