Hi all, resurrecting this as I'm stuck:
I've used Virtualbox to load on Windows 10 x64 Home to an external USB flash stick.
I used the guide here
https://medium.com/@SteveAA/hi-guys...tbe-able-a-few-with-their-errors-dafec1e44d12 and
https://hackernoon.com/how-to-run-bootcamp-windows-10-on-a-usb3-86551dc3def8 .
I've downloaded the BootCamp drivers using Brigadier (from
https://github.com/timsutton/brigadier) ; but have not installed them yet (mainly as I've not been able to boot into Windows yet).
I used an entire USB stick, i.e. GPT partition table, no other volumes/partitions and let Windows do its thing during install.
I've also enabled booting from external drives in the recovery mode (guide
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208198) - the drive didn't show up until I did this stage.
From the above post (from fabrizio) I also added 'System Preferences' to the Full Disk Access section in Security and Privacy, but that didn't make a difference for me.
I've got a Macbook Pro 16", stock with Catalina 10.15.3 on it. The USB drive is a Patriot 256gb (600mb/sec) USB-A stick connected with a USB-A to USB-C lead from Amazon.
No errors occurred during any of the install stages.
Holding down Option to get into the boot menu. When I select 'EFI Boot' from the boot menu, it just goes into the Mac 'Startup Disk' utility. It can see both the 'Untitled Windows' and the 'Macintosh HD Encrypted Disk' listed but when I select 'Untitled Windows' it brings up the error "You can't change the startup disk to the selected disk. The bless tool was unable to set the current boot disk.".
Does anyone have any ideas?
Cheers, Andy
