Hi there - been trying to update to Catalina, but for some reason I keep getting this message:

Has anyone had the same experience?

I have not had Beta versions or anything the like. This is simply just a plain standard update request.

I am having the same issue. Was anyone able to resolve this and yes I do want to download Catalina. :)

I can't provide a direct solution for this problem as I only have unsupported machines and won't be able to load Catalina the normal/supported way anyways.

But if nothing else is working you can still load it manual using the Terminal in the way described in my post here

If your machine is supported you can just ignore all the file editing and just need to run the command. This will load the components directly from Apple as you can see in the script and you don't need to patch anything with a supported machine.

Came across the same "not available" response but then it showed up able to DL. (2017 MBP 15) That said, first 1.31 GB DL'd in <20 seconds, the rest - it says 19 HOURS. FYI - this is on 1 GBPS up/down via ethernet. Had same issue trying to DL iOS 13.1.3...

That's why it's best to download the same day it becomes available...days later, that's when everyone else around the WORLD will be downloading...the server(s) doesn't have infinite connections capacity...you guys just happened to try when the server reached its max capacity.

Still weird though that my macbook pro had no problem downloading and my iMac does. And I did both at the same time too.

The server could have reached its max capacity when your iMac connected despite been milliseconds apart. Nothing weird about that...it has NOTHING to do with Catalina.

Just tried again now - weeks later, and it's still not available.... other updates work well, but Catalina is not available....

Sometimes a 3rd party firewall or VPN can interfere. Something like AVAST for instance.

Tried Safe mode?

OK - so I started my Mac in recovery mode and asked to re-install Mac OS with the latest version. That worked! Should be simpler though. I know my mum who is also using Mac would never be able to do this by herself!

So, when you did that did you have to restore from backup all your information?

No, I had the option to just re-install Mac OS with its newest version. I also had the option to restore from back up, though. But I didn't have to go that far! Thank God! :)

When I try to do that it says will install macOS Mojave....
