mac os mojave not allowing to increase the partition size for boot camp

Hi,

I am using a mid-2014 13-inch rmbp running 10.14.4. Last night I deleted my windows Partition for some problems and thought of a clean installation from the scratch. So I downloaded the required 64-bit iso file from Microsoft (Win10_1809Oct_v2_English_x64.iso to be precise) and tried to install windows from a 64 GB USB 3.0 pen drive. While my mac has 300 GB free (pic attached), during the partition window it shows only 47 GB is free and allows a maximum of 79 GB to Windows (Pic attached). I need more space, but I can't drag slider further to the left and divide equally option is also greyed out. How to solve this problem? I tried disk repair and all seems OK. Restart also does not help.

There may be other reasons why it won't allow you to resize to what you want, but the following scenario seems pretty common. Open the Disk Utility app and see how much space it is reporting free on your system disk. If there is a large discrepancy, a common reason why this happens is that local snapshots are being saved.

To delete the local snapshots using the Terminal app:

If this does result in a lot of free space being created as reported on Disk Utility, try the Boot Camp Assistant again. BTW, for me the Win10_1809Oct_English_x64.iso didn't work in High Sierra. I see web pages where there's the same issue with Mojave. There are workarounds for using Win10_1809Oct_English_x64.iso and perhaps you're aware of this - if not, the Win10_1803_English_x64.iso (from the same page as the other iso) will work.
