I think it's been already established that spotlight search for images is next to useless, unless all you care is a row of idiotic thumbnails, but this one is taking it a step further.

I just tried to look for a folder, and the first result was some kind of stupid 'add to calendar' prompt (bc folder title is made of numbers!), and then nada - not even a pile of thumbnails for images in the same folder, with same number in their titles, or a 'search in finder' shortcut.

I have also turned off the idiotic text search function in Preview settings, so it doesn't plaster that stupid icon on any image with not even a hint of text in it, but somehow the screenshot thumbnails still have it?

I hate spotlight with passion.

"I hate spotlight with passion."

Then do what I do (and have done since Apple first introduced spotlight):
DISABLE IT.

In its place, I recommend two other free, small search tools:
Easyfind
and
Find Any File.

('nuff said about that)
