I was just wondering, if there is any software lisence you should keep track off, you know for when your iMacs break. You have these for windows.
 
No, Apple doesn't use serial numbers or activation. They use serials for their boxed software including Aperture, FCE, etc... but not for iLife or OSX. That said, you're granted one license, and are legally allowed to use it on one machine before you buy another one.
