I work in a large IT department, but there are only 2 people who are Xcode programmers. My boss hasn't started programming in Xcode yet, but wants to.

We have a Mac Mini that we want to use to keep our source code. Wondering if we should go ahead and set up Mac OS X Server and use Xcode Server, or just put our git repository on the Mac Mini and use it as a file server.

Is Xcode Server worth the trouble of setting up Mac OS X Server?

I don't have any direct experience with Xcode Server, but my experience with OS X Server would suggest that you just throw git on it. :)

I've install XCode on the server and I personally like it. It's nice to have all the integration and support of Apple.

However, for my own line of work, we run RHEL with subversion. Mostly CLI tools and some Win 7 apps.
