I know that in Mountain Lion, Apple added drivers for Radeon HD 7000-series graphics cards and in March 2013, Sapphire released the Mac 7950. I've seen people use Dual 5770s and 5870s in their Mac Pros and I'm wondering if you can do the same thing with 2 Sapphire 7950s or 1 Sapphire 7950 and 1 PC 7950 (the benefit Mac + PC cards would be seeing the Apple logo on startup and having the benefits of 2 graphics cards, while also spending less money on a PC 7950)

I recently installed a 7950 that was flashed for Mac. The issue with dual 7950s is that a single one uses both 6-pin connectors to the board.

Can't answer your question about mixing and matching, though I would assume it would. I got my flashed 7950 off eBay for $290 though. Still a good discount from the Mac version.

May be you can follow the thread that about install dual 7970 with only internal power. If that can works out, most likely dual 7950 can works out as well. However, why not just follow exactly the same procedure to install dual 7970? The bios is attachted in the thread, you don't need to start everything over again.

Anyway, I believe that you can x-fire a Mac 7950 with a PC 7950. There difference is just the EFI part, shouldn't cause any trouble.

I have a Mac Pro 1,1. I bought a flashed Sapphire 7950.

Used the old 7300 card to instal Yosemite, Mavericks, etc.

Installed the Sapphire drivers on the windows bootcamp as well.

I see signal in the monitors but they are not showing anything.

Do I have to change something in the EFI, Kext file, card etc?

I also have a Mac Pro 1,1 with the 7300GT and I'm running 10.8.4 through the MLPost application. I got the PC 5790 to try to use it to get to Yosemite because whenever I try using my SFOTT boot, it just pushes me to the sign in. So I guess I have two questions.
1.How did you get Yosemite to work with your original card?
2.Have you gotten the PC 7950 to work? Because i can't.

Thanks!
