Hello!

I bought a Radeon 6870. How can I flash the Mac Bios for the card? My mac pro is a Late 2006 model and it has the EFI32. I need the boot screen because of my Boot Camp setup, which doesn't have really a support for changin the boot partition. Also I can only use my Mac Pro for the flashing process. How can I do it?

Other possiblity would be, that if someone could give me his/her boot camp x64 menu panel from windows side... [EDIT]

Ps. Sorry for my not so good English, its not my main languane. :)

Not gonna happen.

Netkas wrote 6870 efi, based on iMac and is 64bit, no way to see boot screens on 1,1 or 2,1.

Flash a 4870 or 7950 for easy flash and boot screens. 7950 requires Tiamo boot mod to run 10.8.

Research is your friend

Well... I'll cancel my order and get a 7950... Ofc, its better GPU overall

Shaisse... It cannot be canceled... :'( Can someone give me a hint, how can I get the windows side working with the new card? I haven't been able to install the Boot Camp manager, which controls the boot disk selection of EFI... or a link to a installation guide for Windows 8.1 Pro x64

Are you able to get into the windows side right now? Can you select it in your OS X preferences and then boot into it?

Thanks for help. This will be my new way to boot into my Windows 8.1 x64, which was a painfull installation itself :D Does anyone else have that problem, that windows clock is 4h early but mac clock is on real time?

It seems to fix for a boot when I update the info. It'll work now. Also I remember that some apps did'nt launch from mac side if using non mac gpu. How can I fix that, cause I would like to be able to do my everyday stuff on mac side...

Yeah... It seems like not all of the apps launch on Radeon 6870... Like GTA SA and GeekBench don't launch at all

You can flash the card to make it fully compatible with your software. Some time ago I made EBC EFI for these cards and posted it on netkas forum. No bootscreen but I guess you can live without it ;)
