Hello everyone, I just recently got a Mac Pro 1,1 !! ( YAY ) I seller told me that he removed the WiFi card and the blu-tooth. So I installed 10.7 as I plan to firmware update it. However when I plug in a ether cable it doesn’t seem to go online. This may seem like a silly question but with the WiFi removed does it some how affect the Ethernet ports ? Thanks for viewing my thread.

I have 10.7 installed atm and when I go to network and click on eithernet the status says cable unplugged and I moved the cable from one port to the other.

This is bad. A workaround could be an USB-Ethernet Adapter like those for the MacBook Airs. Once in a day I had a G5 with dead Ethernet port and it was the cure.

if you can try a second Ethernet cable, if no luck talk to the seller

Just a small update, I just got my airport card and BT card in the mail. And after installing them I can now get online via WiFi!!! Kinda bummed about the Ethernet port but at least she is online now!! I’ll look into the ports at another time and if I figure it out I’ll update the thread. ( I asked the seller but got no reply btw ) thank you all who viewed!
