Hello,

We have 3 setups of Mac Pro 1,1 with 16Gb RAM, and NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT.

I am not able to install Final Cut Pro X on these Mac machines.
Is this a sufficient configuration to install FCP X? I am new to Mac and we have recently bought this setup from an editing studio who have recently shut down their operations.

Please help me with this issue.

Regards,
Raj

is there any way that I can install FCP X on these systems?

The current release (versions 10.3) of Final Cut Pro X requires OS X 10.11.4 or higher.
Your old Mac Pros cannot be updated past OS X 10.7.5 without using extraordinary means.
You CAN search for methods to update your Mac Pro, which, at a minimum will require that you replace the old GeForce 7300GT, which is not compatible with the later OS X versions.

I think the most honest answer to your question is, no, you cant install FCP X on those computers. as @DeltaMac pointed out, FCP requires OS X 10.11 at a minimum and the 1,1 only went up to 10.7.

now you could dig in and get 10.11 running on those computers, but will FCP X work? possibly. but I wouldn't count on it being stable and the performance will be poor. computer technology has progressed in so many ways in the last 10 years and software has adapted to those changes and is written to take advantage of them. trying to run a current piece of complex and resource intensive software on a 10 year old machine is asking a lot of either.

I would say you might consider running FCP 7. an old piece of software but still potentially productive (and still used by a few) and a much better fit to those machines. if you need to run FCP X, you should seriously consider replacing those machines. the 2009 to 2012 Mac Pros (4,1 and 5,1) offer far greater potential (multiple times better performance) and would slot right in to your current setup. but still old machines that are kept relevant only because they can be updated and modified in ways that aren't really practical or possible on the earlier Mac Pros.

maybe if you explain your use case and end goal someone might have some encouraging input.

You don't have to download the newest version of FCP X.

In OS X 10.7.5 in App Store you can load the last compatible version of Final Cut Pro X for 10.7.5.

hello,

If you dig a little bit in the forum, a lot of people use FCpx with a 1,1, via a hack you have to install el capitain.

You need also a new graphic card.

you can use final cut 7
or an old version of final cut x as mentioned by synchro3
or you can do the hack to instal a newer version of osx on the computers which is not to hard but you may need to buy newer GPU's for them

you can also ask apple for help, but they may just say buy newer macs

an older version of davinci resolve may work or adobe CS6 may work in 10.7

the current version won't work needs the last version works fine but the issue is your video card upgrade it to at least a HD4870 should work fine with final cut pro X
