Hey guys, I have a 2006 Mac Pro 1,1 with an EFI modded El Capitan install, roughly 16GB RAM, 256GB SanDisk SSD, 6TB in RAID storage, and an ATI HD5870. Lately I've been having a problem with a boot sound, followed by a black screen. The last few times I've let it sit and it would work, the last time the problem happened I was able to do an SMC reset and a PRAM reset (one of them worked) and it started right up. The most recent time, nothing has been working. I've tried moving the RAM sticks around, although out of recommended arrangement. I've tried an older GTS450, and the stock graphics card (which will boot, but won't run El Cap correctly) to no avail.
Any ideas to move forward? Go figure, the ONE time my backup machine isn't running, my main Mac Pro stops working. I love this computer dearly, and use it daily.
