Mac Pro 1,1 will not 'reboot'

Ok, if I select restart, it will shut down, monitor off, but just sit there with the power LED lit, and not reboot.

Reset PRAM......

Any ideas on what could cause this?

Try resetting the SMC too.

I did reset PRAM, and I did remove and reinsert the battery.

As far as putting to sleep, waking, then restarting.... it doesn't restart and that's the issue.

THIS IS A FRESH INSTALL OF LION - AND DOES THE SAME ON A SNO LEO INSTALL

Well, to reset SMC, you unplug it from power, wait 15 seconds, and then reconnect power?

That happens every time I use it. I have it on a power strip and turn the strip off every time after use...... effectively the same thing.

Any other ideas?

Ok, SMC Reset switch on logic board... hahaaa... drrrrrr..... ok.

pulled battery - again - tested (good) - reinstalled - held down SMC Reset button

All better...
