Should I do it?? What distro?? This thing is sitting around doing nothing, I need ideas :)
 
most distros won't install if you try to boot the 64bit version on a MacPro1,1. 32bit versions will run just fine (but then you'll only be able to allocate 2 or 3 GB of RAM). IIRC there's a special UBUNTU installer to run 64bit UBUNTU on machines with 32bit EFI.

You must be inside my mind...

I was just reading about the working 64-bit Ubnuntu for the cMP 1.

Looks like it is my best option, as I want to stay 64-bit for ram reasons.
