Mac Pro 2,1 Yosemite and Airplay

I recently updated my aging (but still raging) MacPro Clovertown 2,1 to Yosemite and was hoping with it would magically arrive the ability to Airplay Video (in the form of screen mirroring) from my MacPro to my Apple TV (3rd Gen). Can this be achieved through hacking or do I need to throw money at a 3rd-party software solution?

As far as I know you are SOL. Airplay video uses Intel's Quick-sync technology and that is not available in the 2,1 Mac Pro. Hardware limitation.

EDIT: Just looked and you're looking at CPUs launched after Q2 2011. For the Mac Pro that means only the nMP.

Thank you, Sir. I knew they weren't supported but I wasn't sure if there was a way to hack support...like running Yosemite.

There are places selling the newer apple broadcom cards with adapters so hackintoshes can do handoff etc, maybe one of those will work in a old mac pro?
