I took a few power consumption measures at home and was surprised to note that my Mac Pro 2006 (with 16 GB of RAM) consumed 55W, whether in sleep or standby ("off") state.
I knew part of the logic board had to be powered even in "off" state as the power-on can be programmed, and I knew FB-DIMMs consumed more power than regular RAM, but I was still surprised to see such a high consumption in standby and no difference with sleep.
Is it the same with you? Is it the same with newer Mac Pros? The power consumption of my Mac Mini in sleep mode does not seem to reach 1W.
