Hi all
I am trying to up the RAM on an old 2008 Mac Pro, I purchased 32GB in 8 x 4gb chips that was supposed to work, and popped them in
Sadly they sometimes showed up as 32gb then 16gb, also 24gb so all over the place every time I booted up
The new RAMs do not have the large Heat Sink or Heat Seperators coveting the chips like the old ones & I wonder if this is the case?
Any advice most welcome :) Thanks

If the modules are seated properly then you either have one or more bad modules or purchased out of spec modules. Return the current modules and review the required specifications before purchasing / exchanging for new modules.
