Hello all,

Ok so here's my situation. I have a mid 2010 iMac and a 2008 Mac Pro tower that I recently acquired in a trade for my older Macbook Pro.

I'd like to upgrade the Mac Pro with a wicked graphics card so I can game using bootcamp, and use my iMac for work and OS stuff and be able to switch between the two only using a single screen.

I know that my iMac is the model that has the target display mode, but I'm worried that the card available on the Apple site (Radeon HD 5770) won't be compatible with target display mode. The one that's currently installed doesn't work... I believe it's the 9600GT or something. It was the original stock card. When I plug the two in using a DVI to Mini Display port converter all I get is a black screen. After further reading apparently not all cards support the target display mode.

Can anyone confirm or clarify this for me? Or suggest a card that does work?

Any tips are greatly appreciated!

Ah shoot.

Well they offered some ones that DO work but I can't seem to find any in stock...
