Mac Pro 2008 USB 3.0 HD reports as USB 2.0

I have this Orico card:

Mac Pro 2008, 10.8.5.

When I connect a USB 3.0 HD directly to the card
it reports as USB 2.0 for the HD speed connection in Systen Prefs.

When I run the connection thru a USB 3.0 hub it reports
the HD speed as 3.0 in System Prefs.

This condition is with a Sansdigital and a StarTech enclosure:

Hello,

The issue should be cause to the position of the card.
Are you using it on PCI-E V2.0 Slot ( Slot 1 or 2 )
Somes USB3 cards work only in USB2 mode plugged on Slot 3 or 4 ( PCI-e 1.0 slot )

The USB 3.0 connections are fine if I go thru a USB 3.0 hub.
Only when directly connecting the drive is it reported as 2.0.
The card is recognized as 3.0.
