Hello everyone, you would like to know if any owners of macpro 3.1 of 2008 8 core has ever tried to edit video with fcpx or premiere pro using 4k files.
If yes, how is it found? did you have to convert files to prores 444 to get a smoother timeline or not?
thank you

Theirs variables for doing this. Need to know...

1) HD ( SSD & RAIDS )
2) GPU Support ( Using Metal or OpenCL )

Your best solution to working with 4K files is using the proxy method. You need very large and fast storage (128 SSD isn't going to work) , Lots of Ram, and a more modern GPU.

Adobe Premiere

FCP X

So a 2506 GB SSD would only be good for the operating system and applications?

HD Sata 2 tb For storage file video?

32 gb x 1600 mh / z of ram enough?

and a gtx 970 4gb will be fine?

also I have to work in proxy or can I also convert to apple prores HQ?

thanks for your advice.
