Mac Pro 2009 back plane logic board pin broken

Is there a way to fix it without soldering?
Strangely the Mac Pro boots up with a pin missing around the middle of the backplane connector to the CPU tray.
Does it present any operational problems?
not so far, but it might as I do not think apple installed that many pins just to have some spares to break
I wouldn't like it either...
I would just use it a while and see if it causes any issues.
In the last 2 weeks, I've replaced my Logic Board twice... I have a good spare now, but I wouldn't want to do it again unless I had too. My WiFi/BTLE module died in the process. I have one one order now from OSXWiFi.
Are all PCIe slots are functioning at full link rate? Could be a PCIe lane. 72 of those pins are used for 36 PCIe lanes.
Maybe you got lucky and it’s a redundant ground or 12 volt pin, but I always assumed the pair of big 4-pin connectors were 12v and ground.
Could be also one of your DMI links to the ICH10 southbridge. It’s basically a PCIe x4 link, and will in fact work at x2.

Same issue with 2010 mac pro backplane connector. Actually a couple of pins broken. Any experience in fixing this? Maybe placing pins on female side on CPU tray so they match? Does anyone know about a schematic identifying connector pin functions?
