Hello I would be more than grateful to get advice on memory speed on a Hacked 2009 Mac Pro 2 x 2.66GHz Quad Core Xeon CPUs NOW 5,1

I have installed Nyix HMT42GR7MFR4A-H9 DDR3 1333Mhz 4 x 16GB in 4 of the 8 slots. However the computer is saying the speed is 1066Mhz? Is that because of the 2.66 CPUs? I have a done PRAM reset it still says the same. I presume once I install CPUs like the X5690 Westmere or from 2010-2012 etc The computer will recognise the higher speed? Thanks DH

Youll need to upgrade your cpu to something like the x5690’s to get the 1333mhz

You have Xeons that the memory controller works up to 1066MHz, others works up to 1333MHz. When you install 1333 memory with a 1066MHz Xeon, memory will run at 1066MHz. If you change your Xeon to a newer one, memory will be correctly identified and run at 1333MHz.
