I’ve bought a RR640L, and found out that it doesn’t support bootable raid in OS X. Since RR642L was on the El Capitan support list (http://www.hptmac.com/support_el_capitan.php), I though that RR640L can also achieve a bootable raid in El Capitan because they used the same Marvell 88SE9235 chip. After a few hours of work, I successfully replace the product S/N in the RR642L EFI rom to fool the WebGUI into accepting it. Now, I’m able to boot with 2 SSD raid 0, but the write speed is slow. I've test these SSDs within windows 7 before, they can both reach 400 MB/s write and 500 MB/s read.

Any suggestions? Raid cards which officially support for both OS X and sataIII are too expensive…

RR640L with M4 128G non-raid is same as your situation, slower as 1XXMB/s!
BTW, could you pls share your rom? My RR640L cannot boot in El now.

After flashed your rom, it hasn't bios version and it can boot finally! But only in Mac Os, Bootcamp cannot! And the speed is same as before! Thanks a lot again!

Did you place the card in the x16 or x4 slot?
Did your system recognize the card instantly when you installed the driver?
