I have retired my macpro 2009 (el capitan 10.11.16) and installed windows 10 which is running very well
But the only way i can get windows 10 to come up is to hold the options key and select windows 10
and it then boots up in windows 10, if you don't touch the options key it defaults to apple el capitan
My question is there any way i can make this computer to default to windows 10
i want to use this computer on running a CO2 laser with windows 10
and its a wee bit of a bother to sit there and make sure it comes up windows 10
in the macpro setting if i choose to have windows re start it comes up with some graphic picture
and just sits there, so the only option i have to use windows 10 is to sit there holding the options key and select win10 to boot
Anyone have some experience with this to make it easier
Its an excellent computer

yeah, it will look for viable booting options - usb, optical, hard drives etc if it can't find one that is preconfigured. I haven't used bootcamp personally, but I would have thought the bootcamp manager, or startup disk prefs in macOS would lt you default to windows startup.
