Now that the Magic Mouse is shipping with Mac Pros, does anyone know if the Bluetooth antenna problem has been fixed? I'm planning to put the Mac Pro under my desk and I hope the mouse will work.

from what i've heard, the problem is the aluminum casing. Worse case, you could find a cheap usb bluetooth dongle, and a cheap usb extension cable to get a better signal. I don't have a MP yet (I wish), but that is what I would recommend if the built-in doesn't work too well.
EDIT: Worse case if that it doesn't work, you "should" be able to go to an apple store genius bar and say that the machine doesn't work as advertised. I bet they would be willing to exchange the magic mouse for a wired apple mouse if that were the case.

Doubt it will change. Probably should order a wired mouse with it. I really tried hard with Apple mouse products. Apple mice = Fail.
I find it hard to believe they didn't change anything. It's one thing if the magic mouse is sold separately (and released after the previous gen Mac Pros). It's quite different if they're sold together and don't work. The last thing Apple needs is Antennagate 2.

I just bought a brand new Mac Pro and have had tons of problems with the Bluetooth and the Magic Mouse... I really do not want a wired mouse or to use up one of my usb ports with a third party dongle... I wish it just worked like it was supposed to. As a side note I also have problems with my DVI port that I did not have with my previous MP...

How far is the mouse from your Mac? and what's between the 2? My 2010 MP is to my left under the desk. The mouse is to my right. About 3-4ft between them. I have an Ikea desk (pressboard on a metal frame) and the mouse works with no problem.
using a bluetooth dongal might work but cause issues when the MP goes to sleep unless you turn sleep off.
2009 = 2010 = still just as bad.
I've just used a 50cm + WiFi antenna and now it works fine.
Useless otherwise.

Works fine for me. 2010 MP under the desk near my left foot. Magic Trackpad for my right hand. Factory bluetooth.
Out of curiosity, I took my mouse about 20 feet away from my Mac Pro, and it still worked fine. I would have gone further but it's raining outside.

I use a magic mouse with my 2010 Mac Pro. The magic mouse lost its connection occasionally, especially when the battery ran low. In this case, I used the trackpad. I also used the trackpad to make the connection between the magic mouse and the Mac Pro. Overall, I am satisfied with the performance of the magic mouse. If Apple could improve the connectivity, the magic mouse will be more pleasant to use.

Longer wire plugs into the onboard bluetooth card (after removing the internal one) and then feed it through to the PCI-E slots and out the back, then place it alongside the MP.
It's a bodge really but it works so im happy enough.
You are correct. I did the same DIY solution as you mention on yesterday. Now the magic mouse runs very sensitive on my Mac Pro 2010 Mid!!!!
