Hiyas i just brought a mac pro 2010 a week ago and just started to think have i made a bad move because there will be a new release soon so have i made a bad move what so i do or can do please let me know thanks loonboy

What do you use it for? If you don't have critical need for a Mac Pro right now, you could return it and wait. Maybe get an iMac in the meantime to hold you over?

You give no information about your needs, so it's hard to answer your question.

or get a cheap dell inspiron 620 with 2nd gen i5 processor for about $599 from microcenter and buy the new MP when its out. Can't think of a cheaper deal than this...

The chances of a 'refreshed' MP before Q1 2012 are slim-none.

However, if you want to pursue a return you best get the process rolling soon. i'm pretty sure refunds are only granted within 14 days of purchase.

cheers

will there be much different in the new one to the 2010 one or is it just going to be little things added and upgrade witch can just be added to the 2010 mac pro

I use my '09 for video production, and it will be plenty strong for at least a year or two more. I don't let myself get hung up on having the newest one every time they change things. You'll drive yourself mad if you do. :)

I'd guess Thunderbolt on the next one. How important would that be for you?

thunderbolt im not bothered don't really use usbs lol so i say the 2010 2.8 quad with 16gb of ram be plenty powerful for another 3-4 years

I think it is probably a bad move, as the design is a year old, and new ones would be coming soon. Sure it might be ok for your needs, but if you had waited you will probably be able to get a better computer for the same money. That being said, if you need it to make money NOW, then it isnt a bad move.

Generally speaking, one can look at the MR buyers guide and get a good idea on when to buy.

What so I do so I take this computer back or keep it I was to as told that the iMac i7 is faster then the mac pro I brought 2010 mac pro 2.8 quad 16 gb ram thanks loonboy
