Mac Pro 2013 to Thunderbolt 3 dock (or hard drive)

I am preparing for a move to Thunderbolt 3 to support a new computer buy. In the meantime - If I get lets say one of the Akito 4 bay Thunderbolt 3 drive enclosure - can I just plug the TB2 port from my 2013 MP into the TB2 to TB3 adapter into the Akito enclosure (assume of course that BW will be limited to TB2 speed not TB3).

I know it works from TB3 to TB2 (I use this on my MBP) but does it work TB2 TO TB3?

Anyone know?

It's a bidirectional adapter and should work in theory. Have you asked Akitio?

Yes it does. The Apple Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt adapter is bidirectional.
