Hi all,
I am doing the research before upgrading my 2013 Trash Can Mac Pro to Monterey. I currently am using Mojave without issue and I am looking for a bit of feedback as to whether it is 'safe' to make the upgrade in terms of functionality etc.. with the Late 2013 Mac Pro using the Monterey OS or is upgrading to Catalina the more reliable upgrade? Attached are currently computer specs FWIW.

Cheers!

Upgrade to Big Sur, 11.6.8 is rock solid with a late-2013 Mac Pro. Monterey is a moving target that constantly breaks. Catalina support ends in 3 months time.

I don't know of any specific issues with the 2013 Mac Pro and Monterey, since I don't have the Mac Pro. After waiting for the 3rd version of Monterey to upgrade, it has been without any problems on my 2017 27" iMac. That said, whatever you do, avoid Catalina like the plague it is and go for Big Sur if you're concerned about Monterey. Good luck.

I have a 2013 Mac Pro (actually Nov 2014 built) and it is running Mac OS 12.5 Monterey as of yesterday and Monterey pretty much for a long time. No issues observed.

I ran Monterey on my Trash Can until a couple of months ago when I sold it in favor of a Mac Studio. It was rock solid and in fact fixed several issues I had had with Big Sur (e.g. Bluetooth issues). Monterey is the end of the line for your computer so just go for it as you’ll be using this version of macOS as long as you have this Mac.
