Hi All,

Given PCI slots 1 and 2 are x16 and 3 and 4 are x4 and I have a Wide Bodied GPU that if installed in slot 1 also covers slot 2.

Can I install the GPU in slot 2 so that it covers slot 3 instead. thus giving me one empty x16 and one empty x4 slot?

Thanks
Dave

Ok, that's what I thought. Is it possible to mix non-Metal and Metal GPUs, either natively or using OpenCore? Don't worry I don't plan on doing it, I was just wondering if it would work?

Pairing dissimilar GPUs are supported up to High Sierra.

Since Mojave, Apple removed support for that and non-METAL GPUs, dual GPUs require identical METAL supported GPUs since.

OpenCore doesn't change the pairing of GPUs requirements.
