I have a mac pro 3,1 (early '08) and I just put a saphire vapor-X hd 5870 in it (I have one from a PC that was never built). I put it in it to replace a dying geforce 2600XT.

The card boots (no boot screen, but it suddenly pops up the login), but under system report it shows as a generic 5000 series.

ATI Radeon HD 5000:

Chipset Model: ATI Radeon HD 5000
Type: GPU
Bus: PCIe
Slot: Slot-1
PCIe Lane Width: x16
VRAM (Total): 1024 MB
Vendor: ATI (0x1002)
Device ID: 0x6898
Revision ID: 0x0000
Displays:
VA2703 Series:
Resolution: 1920 x 1080 @ 60 Hz
Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB8888)
Display Serial Number: SWQ130520379
Main Display: Yes
Mirror: Off
Online: Yes
Rotation: Supported

I searched all over the web, but the ntkas website is gone, and I can't find firmware for this card, to make it EFI.

I'd like to get this card recognized, so I can use it's full GPU power.

Any advice is GREATLY appreciated!
