I think the connector from Northbridge Sink to the logic board is a sensor for the sink only (picture in service manual)? Hardware Monitor shows the sink temperature varies 22C, 28C etc. The Northbridge Core temperature also fluctuates (right now at 44C with sink at 27C degrees). The temperature reading for the chip has not budged from 63C for days; wherever the sensor is, it's stuck or broken, or needs new thermal grease? This is a "new to me," 3,1 dual core 2.8ghz with 20gb ram.

Question is, where is the chip sensor located? Is it attached to the chip itself, or attached to the bottom of the sink? I don't want to go through removing sink if it's not necessary, or wrong location. Advice appreciated.
