Hi all, I have a Mac Pro 3,1 with an NVIDIA 8800 GT powering 2x24" old school cinema displays. I have a couple other monitors (cinema displays - 24") that I want to use with my setup now as I'm running out of screen real estate.

I mostly just use non-graphical intensive productivity stuff, like programming, web browsing, E-Mail, and spreadsheet work. The 8800 GT has been more than enough power for anything I've done to give you an idea of my graphics card requirements. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I've tried looking on Amazon for another 8800GT, but it is $130 and I got a ATI Radeon 4870 for my Mac Pro 1,1 for $50 a year ago, but even that card seems to be selling for more these days. I'm not sure why the prices are still very high for very old video cards...

I was wondering what the cheapest (or best price/value) video card I could get for it was?

I managed to pick up an Nvidia 640 GT for about $60 and it works great, albeit with no boot screen. But since you have an 8800 GT for boot screen, it's a non-issue for you.

Oh cool, where were you able to pick it up for so cheap?
