I recently bought a Mac Pro 3,1 of eBay. I'm having issues using the start up manager via the option key. Sometimes it will ignore that I held the option key down and boot into the default OS and skipping the start manager screen. I think it happens upon restarts rather than booting from a shutdown state. Sometimes the boot manager will show and other times it will skip it. I've reset the pram and smc. Any help is appreciated

No. It's a wired keyboard. Also tried without the USB extender cable. I repaired the disks. The one hdd which has 2 Mavericks installs was from my previous Mac Pro 1,1. It said it fixed the partition map or something, but that didn't help either. Now when I try to reset the pram multiple times in succession, it resets it once and then goes right to boot, even though I'm still holding down the keys. It didn't do this the other day. Maybe there was a reason it was on eBay. Otherwise it seems to function properly. CPU temps all nominal and default fan speeds. No kernel panics. It does seem to take a little longer to restart compared to my 1,1.
